🇬🇧 Erwin Rucker (AT) is a physiotherapist and osteopath with many years of experience in the fields of orthopedics and sports medicine. After completing his physiotherapy training at the Academy of Physiotherapy at Vienna General Hospital (AKH Vienna) from 2004 to 2007, he pursued extensive further education, including sports physiotherapy, manual therapy according to Cyriax (IAOM), and osteopathy at the International Academy of Osteopathy (IAO, 2011–2016).
In addition, he deepened his expertise in concepts of Clinical Psychoneuroimmunology (KPNI) as well as in the highly comprehensive, integrative, and research-based Fasciopathy training according to Haas.
Erwin himself was actively involved in various sports for many years and competed in disciplines such as basketball and bodybuilding. In his work as a therapist, he treats a broad spectrum of patients of all ages as well as numerous athletes, and has accompanied athletes in the context of international competitions, including World Championships and the Olympic Games.
His clinical work combines osteopathic diagnostics with a broad understanding of the factors that influence health and performance in sports—from sport-specific loading patterns and training processes to regeneration strategies, as well as biochemical, psycho-emotional, and lifestyle-related aspects.
In his lectures and courses, he teaches a structured and practice-oriented approach to osteopathic work with athletes. He demonstrates how a differentiated analysis of the athlete as a person, together with an understanding of the specific sport, can lead to clearer osteopathic strategies. In addition to structural and functional factors, aspects such as personality, environment, training structures and the specific demands and stressors of the sport are taken into account in order to make well-founded therapeutic decisions within the dynamic context of training, competition and recovery.
