Flow, Force & Function: Vascular Intelligence in Elite Sports Osteopathy

This post-academic course offers a comprehensive and in-depth exploration of the vascular system (arterial, venous, and lymphatic) within the unique physiological demands of professional elite cycling. Designed for experienced osteopaths and sports health practitioners, the course examines how each component of the vascular network contributes to performance, recovery, and long-term tissue health in the competitive cyclist.
Participants will develop a thorough understanding of vascular anatomy and physiology as it relates to the specific biomechanical load patterns, sustained positional demands, and extreme exertion cycles characteristic of elite cycling. The course addresses common functional vascular problems encountered in this population – including thoracic outlet syndrome, popliteal artery entrapment, chronic venous insufficiency, and lymphatic congestion and explores how these conditions interact with musculoskeletal function and osteopathic clinical reasoning.
The emphasis throughout is firmly hands-on and practical – delivering direct, applicable knowledge and techniques that you can confidently bring into your practice the very next day.
